Gay Mettaton is not 'canon'

There's no proof that Mettaton is gay. But there's ALSO no proof that he isn't. I don't remember him ever saying that he likes someone.

I'm not even sure if Papyrus loves Mettaton or not. It could be just a celebrity crush, those are a common thing in reality. But if Papyrus does love Mettaton, I don't think Mettaton shares these feelings. I don't remember him ever mentioning Papyrus. So if Papyton is canon, then it's more likely to be one-sided.

He is gay because he is effeminate.
Dumbest excuse I've ever heard. The fact that his body is pink and he uses many "feminine" words doesn't make him gay. Pink is just a color. Some boys at my school wear pink shirts and I've never heard anyone questioning their sexuality. I'm a girl, and if I decided to put on my father's military uniform (well, it would be too large for me, but that's not the point), not to use "feminine" words and to swear like a sailor, would you call me a lesbian?

I headcanon him as gay.
It's alright. It's just that claiming him to be gay and bashing anyone who disagrees is wrong.

He is a robot, how can he be attracted to somebody?
Well, since he is a robot with a soul, it's possible.
